Pre-release testing is underway

We’re officially in pre-release. A small group of early testers — real manufacturers, real production floors — are running Buildsheet in their shops before we flip the switch on public access.

Here’s what’s being tested and what we’re watching closely.

Build sheets in the wild

The core loop is simple: pick a SKU, write your operations, assign operators and machines, print. We’ve tested this internally for months, but nothing tells you more than watching someone use it for the first time on an actual production run. Early feedback has been sharp — we’ve already tightened up how operation steps are ordered and how alert flags surface on the printed sheet.

Assembly sheet workflows

Assembly sheets — instructions for combining two component SKUs into a finished product — are getting a proper workout. This is where the edge cases live. Testers are building records for products with tight tolerances and multi-step hand assembly, which is exactly the kind of use we designed for.

Dashboard accuracy

The dashboard pulls together SKU documentation coverage, open order matching against draft orders, and workforce and machine status. We’re validating that coverage percentages stay accurate as testers add and edit records, and that order matching reflects real Shopify draft order state with no lag.

Operator and machine management

Machine authorisation enforcement — restricting which operators can be assigned to which machines — is a feature a lot of testers have turned on immediately. We’re watching for edge cases around inactive machines and operators mid-workflow.

What comes next

Pre-release runs through the end of next month. We’re collecting feedback continuously and shipping fixes as they come in. If you’re a manufacturer interested in joining the testing group, reach out — we still have a handful of spots open.
